Why are you replacing my existing card with a new Mastercard®?

We’ve partnered with Mastercard to better serve you. Your replacement card will allow us to provide you with uninterrupted service as we work with Mastercard to enhance the benefits and services available to you as a valued Vibrant Credit Union member.


What are some of the benefits I will enjoy?

Enjoy worldwide acceptance at millions of locations and an expansive range of benefits that will be described in the Guide that accompanies your new card. Also with the switch programs like Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay will be available! Does it get any better? You bet! The new cards will be fully equipped with a Chip, aka EMV.


Where can I use my new Mastercard?

Your new card offers unsurpassed acceptance for purchases at millions of places wherever Mastercard is accepted, such as restaurants, gas stations, doctors’ offices, department stores, home improvement stores, airlines, hotels, and online merchants.


What should I do about charges automatically billed to my old card?

You must provide your new card number and expiration date to companies (like online service providers, newspapers, or the phone company) that automatically bill your card.


How do I keep track of my transactions?

All transactions will be listed on your monthly account statement. Plus you can check the status of your account or review transactions 24-hours a day at vibrantcreditunion.org or on Vibrant’s mobile app.

 

What should I do if my card becomes lost or stolen?
You should contact Vibrant immediately by calling 800-323-5109.

So what do I do now?

Watch for your new Mastercard to arrive in the mail. Then activate your new card, and begin using it wherever Mastercard is accepted. It’s that easy. If you have any additional questions, please call us at 800-323-5109.


What should I do with my old VISA card(s)?    

Once you have received, activated and PINned your new card, you should use it right away.  Once you have done this, you can call or come into the credit union to deactivate your old card(s).

 

How do I PIN my new card?
Call 800-992-3808 and follow the instructions on the phone or stop into any branch and we can help you out!


What if I forget to deactivate my old VISA card(s)?    

Don't worry!  Once we're sure all of the cards have been reissued and are in use, we'll close out the old VISA cards early in 2019.


I have multiple debit and credit cards - will they all be replaced?

Yes, all debit, credit and HSA cards will be replaced with new MasterCard branded cards.


When should I receive my card(s)?

You will receive communication from us prior to your new being sent cards out.  We are reissuing all cards over a period of time, so you may find that some of your cards come earlier than others, but you will receive similar communications for all of them, before the cards are mailed out.


What should I do if I don't get my card(s) or get some card(s) but not others?

We are reissuing all cards over a period of time, so you may find that some of your cards come earlier than others,  You will receive similar communications for each of your cards before the cards are mailed out. If you do have any concerns, though, please call us at 800-323-5109.


I don't have a debit or credit card, but I do have an ATM card.  Will this be replaced?

ATM cards will not be replaced. If you currently have a checking account we encourage you to get a debit card. A debit card will give you access to your savings & checking account and will allow you to make purchases. If you do not currently have a checking account, no problem! Our checking accounts are free to open and we encourage you to look into our awesome checking options that have rewards like 55,000+ Free ATMs.


My employees and I all have cards for my business, will we all get new cards?

Yes!  All active cards will be replaced.


Where will my new Mastercard card(s) be delivered?

Your new card(s) will be delivered to the same place your renewed VISA cards would have been delivered.  If you have any questions about where that might be, feel free to drop by a branch or please call us at 800-323-5109.


Will anything change about my business cards and accounts?

All of the current cardholders will have their cards replaced.  Part of the benefit of this change is that it allows us to offer you even more than you have today!   We are getting an exciting new look to our cards - and each of our card products will have a different look!  Stay tuned for more details on that! As well, Mastercard offers us the ability to pass along even more benefits to cardholders and soon after the roll out is complete, we'll be able to offer a credit card rewards program for consumer and business accounts.  Stay tuned for further details on rewards!

Will anything change about my personal cards and accounts?

All current cardholders will have their cards replaced.  Part of the benefit of this change is that it allows us to offer you even more than you have today!   We are getting an exciting new look to our cards - and each of our card products will have a different look!  Stay tuned for more details on that! As well, Mastercard offers us the ability to pass along even more benefits to cardholders and soon after the roll out is complete, we'll be able to offer a credit card rewards program for consumer and business accounts.  Stay tuned for further updated disclosures and details on rewards!

I have recurring payments set up on my debit and/or credit card(s).  Will these continue?

Our project will take advantage of Mastercard's service to automatically update this information to minimize any service impact on our cardholders.  However, we can't be guaranteed that all of the merchants processing these recurring payments have signed up with Mastercard. So to be 100% sure you continue to receive all services associated with your recurring payments, we recommend you contact them and update your credit card information.  The good news is that both your VISA and your Mastercard will be open and active for a period of time, so if you see recurring payments associated with your VISA card(s) after you have started using your new Mastercard, you will have the opportunity to contact the merchants without any interruption in your service!


How will I be sure to have uninterrupted debit / credit card service?

All VISA and Mastercard debit and credit cards will be open and active for a period of time to allow you sufficient time to get comfortable using your new cards and to ensure you always have a Vibrant payment method available to you!  If you have any issues activating or using your new Mastercard debit or credit card(s), simply pull out your old Vibrant VISA debit or credit card(s) to continue with your withdrawal or purchase uninterrupted! Then you can call Vibrant or drop into a branch to get your Mastercard issue resolved at your convenience!


If I have a VISA and a Mastercard, will I have twice the available credit?

Your new Mastercard will be attached to the same account as your current VISA card.  Debit cards will access the same checking account(s) and credit cards will be accessing the same credit limit.  So consider the new card merely a "copy" of your old card, only with many more features and benefits attached to it!

Will my credit score be affected by this change?

Absolutely not.  This card replacement activity will not result in any changes to your credit bureau score.  Think of it as the same type of activity as a normal, everyday card renewal - we're just getting you a new piece of plastic!

How do I register for my Mastercard benefits and rewards?

No need to register!  If you have a Vibrant Mastercard debit or credit card you are automatically enrolled for the Mastercard benefits that go along with it!!  If you apply for one of our new reward credit cards, you'll start earning rewards as soon as you activate and start using your card!


How do I claim my Mastercard Benefits?

Simply call 1-800-Mastercard:  800-627-8372 ( or 1-800-633-4466 en Espanol) or log on to www.mycardbenefits.com to take advantage of the benefits that come with your card!
